Aircraft on Ground (AOG) Transport: Aircraft maintenance
“Aircraft On Ground” (AOG) is an aviation term that refers to the maintenance of aircraft. The term "Aircraft on Ground" indicates that the problem is serious enough to ground an aircraft until the technical problem is corrected. To avoid further delays or cancellations, there is usually a huge rush to replace the defective parts of an aircraft.
AOG applies to every aircraft part that is necessary for an aircraft to be allowed to fly safely again. This can vary from a motorpart to a life jacket etc.
In order to carry out AOG, the courier needs a certificate, both at the airport and during transport. In the Netherlands, the certificate "airfreight employee" is available, which remains valid for 1 year. Rainbow Logistics & Solutions keeps this up to date every year through training.
All Rainbow Logistics & Solutions couriers are in possession of the “airfreight employee” certificate.
